Visit 1 is the heavy hit—we inspect, address any interior activity, and perform a thorough interior/exterior treatment to knock the problem down fast. About two weeks later, we return to catch the next wave of activity, refresh baits, and reinforce control. About 30 days after that follow-up, we complete the series with another treatment and a strong residual designed to keep ants from cycling back for the rest of the season. The warranty applies to ants inside the home for odorous house ants and pavement ants only, and it lasts up to 6 months or until March 1—whichever comes first (exclusions apply). If we identify conditions that are feeding the problem—like tree limbs touching the home or landscaping/harborage issues—and those aren’t corrected, warranty coverage may not apply. The key is that termite swarmers (Reticulitermes flavipes) and winged ants (Formicidae) can look similar at a glance—and a blurry photo makes it nearly impossible to confirm. Here are quick clues: termites tend to have a thicker, more uniform body and two pairs of wings that are usually the same length; winged ants often have a clearly “pinched waist” that looks more like a wasp—think of that narrow middle section between the front and back of the body. Winged ants also typically have front wings that are longer than the back wings. If you’re seeing wings indoors in Washington County or Jackson County—especially near windows, doors, or lights—save a sample and contact us. How to collect a sample: use clear tape to stick the insect to a white index card or paper, or place it in a small zip bag or pill bottle. For photos, put the insect on a plain white surface, use bright natural light, and take a close-up from above and from the side. If your phone has macro mode, use it; otherwise back up slightly so the camera can focus, then zoom in after. The best photos show the body shape, “wasp-like” waist, and wings clearly.
